Review of project goals, space needs and existing conditions
We discuss how the space needs to function and review the information available about the site or existing building. A focused brief helps distinguish essential requirements from preferences.
Constructability review of preliminary layouts and details
We examine preliminary layouts and details for practical construction issues, access constraints and sequencing. We identify questions for the design team while options are still open.
Material and finish comparisons for durability and maintenance
We compare materials and finishes in terms of installation, availability, durability and maintenance. The discussion considers how the space will be used, rather than appearance alone.
Coordination of design intent with building-service requirements
We consider the relationship between the proposed interior and HVAC, plumbing, power and other building services. Early coordination helps the team recognize where specialist input is needed.
Identification of questions to resolve with architects and engineers

Is this a professional architectural design service?
FCC provides practical construction and coordination input. Architectural, engineering and other regulated design work must be undertaken by the appropriately qualified professionals appointed to the project.
Do we need completed drawings?
No. Consultation is often useful while a concept is developing. Available sketches, photos and operational requirements can support an initial discussion, with more detailed review as the design progresses.
Will consultation provide a fixed construction price?
Not necessarily. Early advice can identify cost considerations, but reliable pricing depends on scope definition, drawings, site information and selections. We explain the level of certainty supported by the information available.
